
General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA was born on March 3rd, 1975, in NGOUONI, in southeastern part of Gabon.
After completing his primary and secondary education, he brilliantly obtained his high school diploma (Series D) at the Port-Gentil State High School and entered the Royal Academy of Meknes, in the Kingdom of Morocco, in 1997, to pursue military and university education.
He graduated with a degree in legal sciences and a military diploma as an infantry platoon leader.
Very quickly, his bravery, courage, and dedication to work distinguished him from others.
He was chosen to assume the high responsibility of Security for His Excellency, the late Omar BONGO ONDIMBA.
In this new mission, he rose in responsibilities to become aide-de-camp to the President of the Republic. He will spend 8 years alongside the Head of State.
In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the Parachute Intervention Group (GIP). He held this position with distinction for five years. In 2014, his experience and love for his country led him to pursue a diplomatic career.
He was subsequently appointed Military Attaché to the High Representative of Gabon in the Republic of Senegal, with responsibility for Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso.
He served in this capacity with satisfaction for five years.
In 2019, he was recalled to the country again and entrusted with the sensitive mission of Director General of Special Services. Then, in April 2020, Brigadier General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Republican Guard.
And since August 30, 2023, he has been appointed President of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions, President of the Transition.
In terms of his military training, General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA, a seasoned parachutist, has held a Diploma of Higher Military Education, 1st Level (EMS1) since 2007, and a Certificate of Higher Military Education, 2nd Level (EMS2) since 2010.
In terms of military awards, General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA is decorated with: the National Order of Merit in the rank of Commander; the Military Medal; the National Police Forces Commendation Medal; the National Gendarmerie Commendation Medal; the Prison Security Commendation Medal; the Military Health Service Medal; and the Republican Guard Commendation Medal.
He speaks and writes French and English; his favorite sport is volleyball.
General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA is an avid athlete, passionate about soccer and reading. He is married and a father.
