
General Brice Oligui Nguema was born on March 3rd, 1975, in NGOUONI, southeastern Gabon.
After completing his primary and secondary education, he brilliantly got his high school diploma (Series D) at the Port-Gentil State High School and attended the Royal Academy of Meknes, in the Kingdom of Morocco, in 1997, to pursue military and university training.
He graduated with a degree in legal sciences and a military diploma as an infantry platoon leader. His bravery, courage, and hard work quickly distinguished him from others. He was chosen to assume the high responsibility of Security for His Excellency, the late Omar Bongo Ondimba.
In this new role, he rose in responsibilities to become aide-de-camp to the President of the Republic. He served alongside the Head of State for eight years.
In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the Parachute Intervention Group (GIP). He held this position with distinction for five years.
In 2014, his experience and love for his country led him to pursue a diplomatic career.
He was appointed Military chief to the Gabonese embassy in the Republic of Senegal, with responsibility for Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso. He served in this capacity with satisfaction for five years.
In 2019,he was recalled home and entrusted with the sensitive mission of Director General of Special Services. Then, in April 2020, Brigadier General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Republican Guard.
Since August 30th, 2023, he was appointed President of the Committee for the Transition and the Restoration of Institutions, President of the Transition.
In terms of his military training, Brigadier General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA, a seasoned parachutist, has held a Diploma of Higher Military Education (EMS1) since 2007, and a Certificate of Higher Military Education (EMS2) since 2010.
In terms of military awards, Brigadier General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA has been decorated with:
the National Order of Merit in the rank of Commander; the Military Medal; the National Police Forces Commendation Medal; the National Gendarmerie Commendation Medal; the Prison Security Commendation Medal; the Military Health Service Medal; and the Republican Guard Commendation Medal.
He speaks and writes French and English, and his favorite sport is volleyball.
General Brice OLIGUI NGUEMA is a die-hard athlete with a passion for football and reading. He is married and the father of two children.
